WHAT, WHEN, WHY ?

Hu Yuanlin (2002) is a designer who explores the emotional dimension of objects and spaces.

He founded DECXll in the summer of 2025 as a personal initiative -a platform to examine how design can embody sensitivity, sincerity, and poetic order.

Through his studies at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and later research in design philosophy, Hu developed a practice that connects material exploration with emotional perception.

For him, design is not only a discipline but a language -a way to translate intuition into tangible form, and to build dialogues between people, objects, and memory.

This belief defines the soul of me and my brand DECXll. Every object begins with emotion —— shaped not by trend or efficiency, but by a pursuit of poetic order.

Hu believes that true design should awaken sensitivity: light should feel like memory, materials should breathe, and structure should carry emotion.

Through DECXll, he continues to explore how design can transcend function, becoming something quietly human —— a poem written in form.

STUDIO

DECXll serves as an evolving platform for interdisciplinary design research-spanning product, lighting, and emotional interaction.

The studio focuses on the relationship between material, technology, and perception, seeking to shape objects that resonate beyond function.

Current explorations include emotional lighting systems, poetic form studies, and the intersection of digital fabrication with craft sensibility.
